We ALL make mistakes...

Capturing a great photo isn’t just about striking the right pose; it’s also about having beautiful hair and makeup that can withstand the camera’s scrutiny. Here are some common mistakes people make with their hair and makeup in photos—and how to fix them.

**1. Too Much Shine**

Shiny skin can be a nightmare in photos, making your face look greasy rather than glowing. This usually happens because of heavy moisturizers or highlighters that reflect too much light. To combat this, use a mattifying primer before applying makeup and set your foundation with a translucent powder. For added security, carry some oil-absorbing sheets to blot away excess shine throughout the shoot.

**2. SMUDGED EYE MAKEUP**

Nothing ruins a look faster than smudged eyeliner or mascara. To keep your eye makeup in place, opt for waterproof formulas and avoid touching your face during the shoot. Setting your eye makeup with a translucent powder can also help lock it in. If smudges do occur, have a small brush or Q-tip handy to quickly fix any mishaps.

**3. Flyaways**

Flyaways can be distracting and make hair look messy. To tame them, apply a small amount of hair gel or hairspray to a toothbrush and gently smooth them down.

**4. Hair Falling Into Your Face**

Strands of hair falling into your face can obscure your features and create an unintentional look. To keep your hair in place, use bobby pins strategically to pin back any loose sections. Try to hide them under the hair. For longer-lasting results, a bit of hairspray on the pins can ensure they stay put.

**5. NOT ENOUGH BLUSH OR LIP COLOR**

In photos, colors can often appear muted or washed out, especially under bright lighting. Make sure to apply a bit more blush and lip color than you would for everyday wear. Opt for a blush that complements your skin tone and a lip color that stands out but still looks natural. This will help ensure that your features are defined and vibrant in the final shot.

By addressing these common mistakes and applying these simple fixes, you’ll be well on your way to capturing photos where your hair and makeup look as amazing as you do. Remember, a little preparation goes a long way in making sure you look picture-perfect!
